MÖTLEY CRÜE To Return For Second Las Vegas Residency
April 1, 2013According to Robin Leach of VegasDeluxe.com, MÖTLEY CRÜE will return for a second Las Vegas residency at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino between September 18 and October 6. More details will be made available tomorrow (Tuesday, April 2).
MÖTLEY CRÜE launched Las Vegas' first-ever hard rock residency "Mötley Crüe Takes On Sin City", in February 12. The 12-show run featured elements of CRÜE's arena show, including Tommy Lee's 360 drum coaster and the biggest lighting and sound production ever brought into The Joint, including over-the-top signature pyrotechnics which fittingly incorporated a Vegas feel. The stage set contained special costuming — which included Vince Neil's illuminated poker-hand belt buckle and rogue carnival-styled seat ushers — and showgirl dancers, female aerialists, little people, macabre clowns and stilt walkers, each element dazzled the eye throughout. zthe band also dedicated a portion of the show to an acoustic performance. The shows were produced and promoted by AEG Live.
In a February 2012 interview with the Huffington Post, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx stated about the band's first Vegas residency: "To play in one place is really different because we can do all sorts of crazy stuff we can't usually do because certain pyrotechnics and pieces of equipment are not movable. It is also particularly nice in bad economic time. I think things are going to get worse before they get better, so I'm happy that people can go stay at a Vegas hotel and enjoy our band. I want people to relax and go over the top in Vegas with MÖTLEY CRÜE."
